Global Knowledge Platform for Professional Practice (GKPPP)

GKPPP is a framework that provides practical manifestation of core areas of building high competency: practically doing things in diverse environments, reflecting, knowledge creation process, self organizing and empowerment.

Global Knowledge Platform for Professional Practice (GKPPP) is a framework for achieving high level competency in a learning environment. The framework is global in the sense that it can be applied to any domain or area requiring high competency for performing effectively in professional career.

Global Knowledge Platform for Professional Practice (GKPPP) has been developed specially to provide near real-life experience of projects to students. Students will have access to a range of projects, a set of tools to work on the projects, templates for project documents and will be assigned mentors who would advise students on the progress at various stages of the project. Potential employers would also be able to get a view of the students work through this platform. In summary GKPPP would be a powerful aid to students and faculty to enhance the employability of students

Click to know more    GTT Blended Learning model
The convergence of traditional, classroom based teaching and modern, technology based learning, may be termed as blended learning model; this has been further modified and adopted by GTT to meet the varied needs of its diverse audience, to make it more learner centric and adaptive. GTT’s blended learning model has many components, and is utilised to emphasise the philosophy of ‘any time, any place, and any path, any pace’ for the benefit of its students

Here are some of the components of GTT’s blended learning model:

eLearning

eLearning implies web-based self learning modules. The modules are hosted on GTT’s Learning Management System (LMS). A student can access an entire course, consisting of various modules, on the LMS and learn at their pace. Most of the self learning courses will require a facilitator to guide and supervise a student’s progress through the course.

Workbook

Workbook is a vital component in the GTT’s teaching approach and enables a student to review and reflect upon the eLearning modules. It may cover a wide array of questions, exercises, self study resources, and case studies related to the module.  It is an endeavour to stimulate the student’s thinking process so as to provide them with latest application oriented practical information about the various topics

WebEx (virtual) Classroom

WebEx is a learning centre (WLC) provided by CISCO; and GTT and CISCO have partnered to utilise WebEx as a virtual classroom.  It can be logged into by student, when a lecture is scheduled by GTT. The virtual classroom is generally conducted by an expert faculty with industry experience. GTT students can view and listen to the lecturer simultaneously. Also WebEx facilitates two-way interaction between faculty and students through the web, thereby providing rich learning experience for all students, where ever they may be located.

Face to Face Teaching

GTT combines the modern technology based learning with traditional face-to-face teaching, knowing fully well that a teacher is an important source for learning, guidance and motivation for a student. Depending on the nature of the course, face-to-face training is provided by GTT, by either GTT trained faculty or by a visiting faculty who may be an expert from the industry.

Blog and Wikies

Blogs are a form of online journal, used by people to write their own opinions on various topics. Blogs are posted in a chronological manner. For GTT students, a blog is available on the GTT LMS; so while using eLearning, a GTT student may write an opinion or information on the blog, which can be viewed (but not altered), and commented by everyone learning the same course. This is a way for collaborative learning and sharing information. A GTT student community can enrich themselves by interactively by using blogs.

A wiki is a website that can be edited, altered and inter-linked by people. For GTT students, a wiki is available of the GTT LMS. In a wiki, a student can not only write, but also upload and share documents as well with all students accessing the same course. This again is a collaborative form of learning, which benefits the entire learning community.

Video

Video is a very useful medium of communicating important real-life concepts to an audience. GTT courses embed video clips wherever possible to bring to life situations that are explained more vividly through this medium.

Online Quizzes and Exams

Under GTT’s blended learning model, online quizzes and exams form an important way to monitor a student’s progress. GTT has an online test engine, which the course administrator uses to release a quiz or an exam online on the GTT’s learning management system. A student can take the test as and when scheduled. The quizzes and exams are automated to make the exam administration effortless and timely for GTT as well as for the students.
